Notes for you and your agents

Write the context once. Let your team and your agents use it.

Keep decisions and working knowledge in Notes. Give a chosen agent only the notes you pick, review what it proposes, and let teammates carry the result forward without it.

Write down the context once. Keep it useful together.

Keep the reason behind a decision, the source that informed it and the constraints the next person needs. The shared note is a record the team can inspect and maintain.

Give your agent the context you choose.

Select the material you are allowed to share and a bounded task. The tool’s filesystem permissions, workspace policy and model-provider settings are distinct controls.

Bring the result back to your people.

Review the proposed update against the source. A teammate can question and improve the shared result without installing or using the agent. Model output is not authoritative merely because it appears in a note.

Keep the memory alive.

Update the record as the project changes. In a later task, explicitly load the revised authorized note so the next answer can use what the team learned. There is no hidden promise of perfect recall.

Good questions

Is this built-in AI?

You choose the agent and model provider. Notes holds the shared knowledge. A supported access path gives the chosen tool the material you authorize; no model subscription or credits are included by implication.

Does the agent remember everything?

No. Shared notes are the durable record. The agent needs access to the relevant material for the current task.

What leaves my device?

A locally running agent may send selected plaintext to a cloud model. The provider, account configuration and settings determine processing and retention. Local file access is not proof of local inference.

Can an agent overwrite our work?

Write permission must be deliberate. Inspect the actual change-detection, reconciliation, attribution and recovery path. A safe read-only workflow does not demonstrate safe writeback, and automatic merging does not guarantee a sensible result.
