Terms of Service
A practical account of the service relationship, ready for operator and legal review.
At a glance
Notes offers account-free local writing, optional hosted synchronization and authorized collaboration. A purchase, workspace role and encryption key each have a different purpose.
The service and the contracting party
The intended Notes offering includes installed apps, hosted synchronization and collaboration, and website/account services. The actual contracting entity, operator contact details, covered markets and lawful acceptance mechanism remain decisions for the final terms. This document is working explanatory copy and does not create an agreement.
Local use and hosted service
You can download Notes and write locally without a Notes account. Account setup is introduced for synchronization. A free account can participate in selected notes it is invited to. Free participation is different from owning an independently hosted collection or being a paid member of a managed workspace.
Your identity and organizational authority
Use the intended account when accepting an invitation, purchasing a plan or changing an administrative setting. Authority to act for an organization must be established separately from access to a note. One account can hold personal and business memberships without turning every workspace policy into a personal-account policy.
Your content and sharing choices
The service needs only the reviewed permissions necessary to provide the chosen experience. The final terms must not introduce blanket rights to read, train on or repurpose encrypted notes. Share with the intended people and respect the authority needed to disclose shared material to another service. Removing future access cannot retract copies already obtained.
Credentials, devices and recovery
Keep authentication and decryption responsibilities distinct. Recovering a sign-in credential does not guarantee recovery of encrypted content. Use the actual supported recovery setup, protect device access and keep required recovery material safe. Support must not become a hidden route to decrypt protected notes.
Paid plans and billing scopes
Personal, Team and Business are the accepted paid plans. Personal includes selected-note collaboration with free invitees. Each purchase belongs to a clearly identified payer, scope and biller. Subscription terms, renewal, seats, cancellation and refunds are described in the billing policy and the reviewed transaction terms.
Using the service responsibly
The final acceptable-use provisions need a reviewed definition of prohibited misuse, enforcement, notice and appeal or correction routes where applicable. A private security-reporting channel is available in the intended site. Its existence does not grant research permission or permission to test third-party systems.
Changes, termination and data consequences
A service change or termination must have an understandable effect on access, shared work, subscriptions and retained information. Ending one workspace membership is different from deleting an account. The final terms must establish notice requirements and the relationship among general terms, a business order, any applicable DPA and store rules.
Provisions that require qualified review
Eligibility, governing law, dispute resolution, liability, warranties, mandatory rights and the order of precedence cannot be inferred from a product brief. No sample arbitration clause, liability cap or blanket waiver is supplied here. Approved versions must be preserved with appropriate evidence of what was shown and accepted.
